Did you know that pumpkin can be good for a lot of animals? It can be fed to them a lot of ways, some even feed it raw. We carved pictures in our pumpkins that took pretty big chunks out, so I saved the scraps and cooked them up for the pup!

In which the author adds one more ridiculous thing to her plate… but have you seen this dog’s sweet face???

I picked a really simple way of doing it. I cut off the skin and cubed the pumpkin. Then I put it in a shallow baking dish with a bit of water to keep it moist. I cooked it at 375 degrees until it was soft.

After that I just let it cool, and stored it in the refrigerator in a jar. We add a couple of pieces on top of his dinner for a healthy little treat.

He loved it! It only seemed fair you know. He walked the whole Trick or Treat route with us.

I think all of the excitement wore him out!
